Secret Recipe

We stopped by Gurney Plaza on saturday afternoon.

Had a bit of a rest at Secret Recipe.

LC ordered a pumpkin soup.
She liked it, and thinks it nice.
i had a sip, but it had curry taste in it. ?

must be a local asian version of pumpkin soup.

Northam Cafe

Went with LC for dinner at this place.

The Northam Cafe.... its a hawker centre,

just opposite the Northam Hotel.

No trip to Penang Is complete without "Oh Chean"

fried osyters with egg and bater.

yummy

and ofcourse....... the ikan bakar !
we had a pari - sting ray

and something different.

i ordered a pork sausage.
not bad.

It started to rain, and so it was cooling.

i remembered the last time i was there a few years back,

it was soooooo hot, even at night.

so guess this time the timing was right.

and we enjoyed it.

Penang Hill

Woke up to beautifull weather on sunday morning.

This is a view from the 13th floor of The Royal Penang.

So off we went, checked out and to Penang Hill.

Once we reached there, we found the place packed !.
queued up for tickets, around 11.30am, and the next available time was
1.30pm

so we decided to wait for it, since we are there.
but it was a slow and yet packed like sardines 30 minutes ride up the hill.
and someone even farted ! half way up the hill......
:-(

Once up there, it was nice and cool.
we sat down for a nice lunch and relax a bit.

But the ride down was even more agonizing.....
waited in a queue for about 1 hour.
and again packed like sardines......
down the hill....

thank god this time no one farted in the train !
So, guess it will be for quite a while till the next trip up
Penang Hill.

Penang here we come !

Tomorrow, LC is taking a day off.

off we go "Balik Kampung !"

a most meaningfull trip back this time,

as i am going to ask for her parents' blessing..........

hope evrything runs smoothly !!

and plus,...... this time we must make a trip up penang hill.

cause we have been talking about going up ther for so many times.

LC was craving for fish on the weekend..... :-)

and it has been a while since we were back to the

place we alway go for fish.

upon arriving...... the place was packed.

so we decided to try out another place..... 梁雅in puchong

opposite TaiPing Lang 太平人

We ordered a 石班, 清蒸steamed

fresh and nice
and a 上汤苋菜

and a "kam heong la-la"

all in all, quite nice, and the service is not bad.

Kung Fu Bak Kut Teh

Was trying out this shop's Bak Kut Teh on sunday with LC. 功夫肉骨茶

it is opposite Puteri Mart in Bandar Puteri.

Fist thought was, Kung Fu Bak Kut Teh ??

the boss must be some shaolin master :-)

and hei, if you are ever there, have a look on the walls,

there are pictures showing the boss,...... some sort of

kung fu master.

Theres plenty of different versions, but we ordered the normal soup type.

Had a plate of vege 油菜 as well

and we also ordered yam rice 芋头饭

but it was a bit dry.

all in all, it cost us RM 30.

纳豆

To all the 纳豆 fans......

I have recently improvise another way of having 纳豆

Usually would just buy a plain bun "Roti Kosong"
and use 纳豆as filling and made a sandwich out of it.
nice......you should try it sometimes.

Crabs 蟹

After trying to remember this place last time and got lost finding it.

at the end we did not manage to find it anyway.......

we were determine to find it this weekend.

and this time we did !!

it is a corner shop on jalan 3/62B, Bandar Manjalela.

the name of the restaurant is FoodLand Seafood Restaurant

食园海鲜楼

We ordered their signature dish.

and because we just want to "lepas geram", cause it took us so long to find it,

we ordered on plate of crabs with 咸蛋 & one with 奶油

By this reaction........ LC enjoyed it ! :-)

Crab - Sungai Besi

Been doing some searching.........

LC is keen on searching for the still illusive claypot crab and rice !

guess will just have to take a drive along jalan sungai besi

and look for the place.
