Tried this place out for lunch with LC yesterday.

in Puching bandar puteri.

taste ok......we just have set lunch boxes....for RM 16

i guess its ok.

Asam Laksa

Been a while since we have posted anything......

been busy :-)

but here is LC....craving for Asam Laksa, as we walk past the Jusco food court place,

in Mid Valley.

I am sure all of you have been there and can not resist the temptation....

Secret Recipe

We stopped by Gurney Plaza on saturday afternoon.

Had a bit of a rest at Secret Recipe.

LC ordered a pumpkin soup.
She liked it, and thinks it nice.
i had a sip, but it had curry taste in it. ?

must be a local asian version of pumpkin soup.

Northam Cafe

Went with LC for dinner at this place.

The Northam Cafe.... its a hawker centre,

just opposite the Northam Hotel.

No trip to Penang Is complete without "Oh Chean"

fried osyters with egg and bater.

yummy

and ofcourse....... the ikan bakar !
we had a pari - sting ray

and something different.

i ordered a pork sausage.
not bad.

It started to rain, and so it was cooling.

i remembered the last time i was there a few years back,

it was soooooo hot, even at night.

so guess this time the timing was right.

and we enjoyed it.

Penang Hill

Woke up to beautifull weather on sunday morning.

This is a view from the 13th floor of The Royal Penang.

So off we went, checked out and to Penang Hill.

Once we reached there, we found the place packed !.
queued up for tickets, around 11.30am, and the next available time was
1.30pm

so we decided to wait for it, since we are there.
but it was a slow and yet packed like sardines 30 minutes ride up the hill.
and someone even farted ! half way up the hill......
:-(

Once up there, it was nice and cool.
we sat down for a nice lunch and relax a bit.

But the ride down was even more agonizing.....
waited in a queue for about 1 hour.
and again packed like sardines......
down the hill....

thank god this time no one farted in the train !
So, guess it will be for quite a while till the next trip up
Penang Hill.

Penang here we come !

Tomorrow, LC is taking a day off.

off we go "Balik Kampung !"

a most meaningfull trip back this time,

as i am going to ask for her parents' blessing..........

hope evrything runs smoothly !!

and plus,...... this time we must make a trip up penang hill.

cause we have been talking about going up ther for so many times.

LC was craving for fish on the weekend..... :-)

and it has been a while since we were back to the

place we alway go for fish.

upon arriving...... the place was packed.

so we decided to try out another place..... 梁雅in puchong

opposite TaiPing Lang 太平人

We ordered a 石班, 清蒸steamed

fresh and nice
and a 上汤苋菜

and a "kam heong la-la"

all in all, quite nice, and the service is not bad.

Kung Fu Bak Kut Teh

Was trying out this shop's Bak Kut Teh on sunday with LC. 功夫肉骨茶

it is opposite Puteri Mart in Bandar Puteri.

Fist thought was, Kung Fu Bak Kut Teh ??

the boss must be some shaolin master :-)

and hei, if you are ever there, have a look on the walls,

there are pictures showing the boss,...... some sort of

kung fu master.

Theres plenty of different versions, but we ordered the normal soup type.

Had a plate of vege 油菜 as well

and we also ordered yam rice 芋头饭

but it was a bit dry.

all in all, it cost us RM 30.

纳豆

To all the 纳豆 fans......

I have recently improvise another way of having 纳豆

Usually would just buy a plain bun "Roti Kosong"
and use 纳豆as filling and made a sandwich out of it.
nice......you should try it sometimes.

Crabs 蟹

After trying to remember this place last time and got lost finding it.

at the end we did not manage to find it anyway.......

we were determine to find it this weekend.

and this time we did !!

it is a corner shop on jalan 3/62B, Bandar Manjalela.

the name of the restaurant is FoodLand Seafood Restaurant

食园海鲜楼

We ordered their signature dish.

and because we just want to "lepas geram", cause it took us so long to find it,

we ordered on plate of crabs with 咸蛋 & one with 奶油

By this reaction........ LC enjoyed it ! :-)

Crab - Sungai Besi

Been doing some searching.........

LC is keen on searching for the still illusive claypot crab and rice !

guess will just have to take a drive along jalan sungai besi

and look for the place.

瓦煲蟹飯味道鮮美引人垂涎當瓦煲飯和螃蟹配在一起，會變成甚麼呢？簡單得很，就是瓦煲蟹飯！雖然這間飯店叫做小小飯店，但是其實它一點也不小。而且負責人吳金保所推出瓦煲蟹飯，在隆市更是獨創的。從事飲食業多年的他當年就認為只有獨創的招牌菜，才能夠吸引顧客。於是他就不斷的研究並嘗試，終於讓他想到了瓦煲蟹飯。“我一直在想，瓦煲飯裡面還可以放些甚麼，而後就想到了肉蟹。螃蟹與飯一起焗，屆時螃蟹的鮮味就會融入飯中。”他更說，相信當時推出的時候應該就只有小小飯店一家。更是許多顧客光顧時必點的佳肴之一。每推出特別新菜色城市人用餐，講究的是菜上得要快、菜式選擇要多樣化。而上述這兩點小小都做到了。“除了招牌菜以外，多樣化的選擇讓顧客能在每次前往時嘗試不一樣的菜色。這樣顧客才不會覺得乏味。”吳金保還吩咐廚師每個月都必須推出別出心裁的新菜色，以吸引顧客。“如果顧客的反應好，我們當是新菜上市；如果反應不好，不用說，當然是被淘汰了。”除了今期推荐的佳肴外，老板還推荐，該店的菜園雞和杏香六寶，都是不錯的選擇。“我們所使用的雞皆是我們自己飼養的，有時還會供不應求呢。”至於杏香六寶，則是採用了6樣不同的青菜烹煮出來的。另外，這裡還有許多招牌菜都深受顧客喜愛，如泰國豬手、奶皇生蝦冬粉、炸大腸等等。吳金保也說，總店和分行的菜色基本上皆大同小異。不過兩店也各別推出了一些不一樣的特色小菜，所以不妨要求侍應生介紹吧！
瓦煲蟹飯─45至48令吉（視螃蟹的大小）瓦煲飯和螃蟹配在一起，就是這麼獨特的瓦煲蟹飯了。首先將螃蟹炒香備用，再加上之前已煲好的瓦煲飯一起焗至出味，這樣一來，螃蟹的鮮味都滲入飯中，更加美味。老闆說這道是這裡的招牌菜，前往光顧的客人十之八九都必點它。
脆藕蜜汁蝦將新鮮大明蝦炸至酥脆，爾後再淋上以蜜糖特制蜜汁，即使是用以點綴的蓮藕薄片，也一樣爽脆。為方便顧客食用，廚師已去掉明蝦中間部份的蝦殼。這也是小小新推出的菜色。（48令吉）
蜜汁叉燒以祖傳秘方“燒”出來的的蜜汁叉燒，讓人垂涎欲滴。老板還透露有不少顧客將之打包回家慢慢享用呢。（15令吉）
家鄉花腩煲看似簡單的花腩煲，但煮法卻一點也不簡單。以10種香料加上南乳，煮成香郁的醬汁。然後再加上馬鈴薯及挑選過的花肉，煮成花南煲。15令吉（小）
欖菜芥蘭─15令吉太多大魚大肉，偶爾也必須有些小菜來調合一下。老板將甘欖菜和肉碎一起爆香，然后再將之淋在已過油的芥蘭苗上，清香可口。

Renewed Sofa..I like the colour - Dark Olive Green

I got some idea..if not too tiring..maybe this weekend we paint the entire wall of TV cabinet with our olive green (dark one, not light), i think it sure match with the walnut colour TV cabinet, console table, wall shelf..what a lovely home.

Finall on saturday, was watching this movie before

going out for dinner.

well.....its definately an 18+ movie.

a lot of laughs, and Jack Neo did it again.

a true depiction of the normal family man's life.

I liked it.

and again....for dinner....LC was craving for

CRABS !

so i told her that theres a place in kepong .

i think i was there a few years back.

they sell crabs, with 101 different ways

to choose from.

so, LC was very excited.

but.......as we drove all the way there,

we couldn't find the place.

or maybe i just forgotten the way.......

anyhow, we ended up going back to KING CRAB 蟹皇

and order the same 奶油蟹

but this time we had fried udong as well.

its nice, not too peppery, not too salty, just nice

not like some others that we have tried.

Bubba Gump

Well.......always walk by this restaurant and finally, me and LC

wne tin on sunday for lunch

we ordered a slamon.

comes in a pan like dish, with 2 big pieces of salmon,

on a bed of rice, and plenty of vegies.

taste, is good, with capers, which make it slightly soury.

just nice with a cold beer on a very hot day !

we ordered a side dish or brocolli.

nicely done as it was cook steamed sholw and not in pieces.

we having snd thought about trying the shrimp,

cause it looks like they are all very big portions.

ROSE ?

This is "Rosa Rugosa, Pink or Japanese Rose"

蟹皇海鲜楼

LC craving for crabs on the weekend

as we has an aborted trip......

we were planing to go to melacca for some nyonya food.....

but as we got on the highway.....it was soooooooo jammed !

so we decided to turn back and head to the restaurant nest to the LDP

蟹皇海鲜楼 KING CRAB!

this is 奶油, good with some bread 馒头with the souce

this is the dry spicy one

all in all a good crab feast ! for RM 20 each dish.....

愉快的周末

昨天渡过了一个愉快的周末, 真开心.. :)

纳豆

well, i introduce LC to "Natou" "纳豆" yesterday during dinner.

According to the books, it is very nutricious.

and plus the fact that it is very filling as well.

And, i tried a different soup as well.

Salmon fish head and salty vegetable 咸菜 soup !

Which is Which ?

Well...... this is one of the plants we have planted.

it has red flowers.

recently, there were a few small plants that sprout out just next to it.

LC thinks that its the same type of plant...

but i think otherwise.....

Anyone has any idea of what this plant is ??
